The Elm Bank Auto Show has moved to Medfield!

Hello Auto enthusiasts and followers of the Elm Bank Auto Show. We have big news!!! The show has outgrown the Wellesley location and we are relocating right down the road to Medfield. Fourteen years ago we never thought the show would grow in size that we would fill the show fields to capacity. Each year the numbers grew and the spectator crowds increased drastically. The one lane in and out couldn’t handle the volume. We have been looking for several years to find a close location that would allow us to grow year after year. After talking with the officials in Medfield, we have been able to secure a location that will allow us all the room we will ever need. Very easy access onto and off the site with amble on site parking for spectators. We thank the town of Medfield for allowing us to bring the show to their town. The new location is 45 Hospital Rd. Medfield, Ma. 02052 and the show will be renamed to reflect the location.

MEDFIELD on the CHARLES  ANTIQUE, CLASSIC & CUSTOM AUTO SHOW  will be it’s new name. The venue will have a lawn show field as we are used to and surrounded by trees for shaded areas. Dee Jay Doc will be playing the tunes and providing information as our MC for the Show . He is the voice of many a car show and his lengthy career speaks for itself. He is considered one of the best. We Thank Doc very much for anchoring our show. Four on the Floor band will step up on the stage for hours of great music which you have all enjoyed over the years. Their performance is always talked about long after the show. You can book these guys for a gig or check out their website to see where they are playing locally. There will be a large Food Court to take a break and relax during the day. Listen to some nostalgic music while having lunch before hitting the acres of show fields of chrome and glimmering paint jobs.

There are 35 classes and over 110 trophies up for grabs going to the best in their respective classes. In the past several years the judging has been difficult. 1st, 2nd and 3rd are usually divided by 1 ½ points. There is a new judging format this year with stricter guidelines. The show field is open to all “show cars”, but you don’t need to be judged if that is your preference. The show is meant to have fun and enjoy the day.

The caliber of show cars is amazing. This is a show for the hobbyist. The public loves to stroll through the show fields and admire all the hard work put into keeping these antiques and classics in pristine condition. When a father and son look at a Custom or fully chromed out Street Rod, they know the hours and effort put into the building of that one of a kind auto. We are fortunate to be able to relive our past through chrome and sheet metal. Our own “American Graffiti” or recanting “Happy Days”. Wondering what was in James Dean mind, did we really live “Grease”, was The Beach Boys “Little Deuce Coupe” LP in all our houses? Car Shows let the minds go back in time, a really good time.

For the younger crowd, you provide them with a memory and hopefully an inspiration to keep this hobby going long into the future. You will see a Delorean there but it will remain in 2015. You will walk around it and remember the movie Back to the Future. Elvis. James Dean or Marilyn Monroe’s name will pop up as well as Betty Boop.  Rt. 66 or the birth of the first American sports car will be echoed in conversations. Corvette Hill will be bursting at the seams. NCRS and the contingent of Corvette enthusiasts will fill the hilltop and surrounding areas hopefully with over two hundred “Vettes”.

This year the Feature Cars are STREET RODS and REPLICA / KITS. You’ll see a lot of chrome and serious engineering in this area of the show field. From a 1911 Ford, a very rare Bugatti, Lamborghini or Ferrari to a fully blown muscle car or completely restored antique, you’ll find something to remember long after the show ends. Come be part of one of the best shows in the area and enjoy yourself.

Thank you one and all and look forward to a spectacular show Sunday June 26, 2016.
